Florida A&M Quarterback Daniel Richardson Shines in Season Opener

Florida A&M quarterback Daniel Richardson silenced any doubts about the team’s quarterback position with a stellar performance in the Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge. After the departure of SWAC Offensive Player of the Year Jeremy Moussa, there were questions about who would lead the Rattlers’ offense. Richardson, a transfer from Florida Atlantic, answered those questions with a 22 of 30, 286-yard, three-touchdown passing display.

Despite a shaky start that included a near interception on his first drive, Richardson quickly found his rhythm and led Florida A&M to a 24-23 victory over Norfolk State. His pinpoint passing and ability to evade pressure were on full display, with highlight-reel touchdown throws to Thad Franklin Jr. and Jamari Gassett.

Richardson’s performance not only showcased his arm talent but also his ability to make plays with his legs, rushing for 32 yards and converting crucial first downs. With his leadership on full display, Richardson guided the Rattlers to a hard-fought win and solidified their status as a team to beat in the SWAC.

As the season progresses, Richardson’s performance will be crucial in Florida A&M’s quest to defend their Celebration Bowl championship. With his impressive showing in the season opener, Richardson has proven that he is more than capable of leading the Rattlers to success on the gridiron.
