After a competitive bidding war, ABC secured the rights to the series, with Rothwell set to star in and executive produce the adaptation. Rothwell took to Instagram to share her excitement, posting, “CAN’T STOP. WON’T STOP. LFG. @bighattieproductions.”

The deal was finalized after six months of negotiations, with entertainment lawyer Omara Harris and Johnson also sharing the news on social media.
