NASAAN Pays Tribute to Late Father Proof and Eminem in “Goated” Video with Royce Da 5’9″

The son of the late Detroit rapper Proof, NASAAN, has paid tribute to his father and Eminem in a new video by recreating a famous freestyle moment. In the video for his track “Goated,” featuring Royce Da 5’9″, NASAAN raps about his father, leading to a recreation of a 1999 freestyle session between Eminem and Proof.

This video is the first single from NASAAN’s debut full-length project, and he shared his thoughts on the release on his Facebook page. He expressed that the release date coincided with the day he lost his father 18 years ago, making it a significant moment in his career. NASAAN believes his father would be proud of his accomplishments and the effort he put into making the video.

The relationship between Proof and Eminem was incredibly close, with Proof’s tragic death in 2006 leading to a period of intense drug addiction for Eminem. He recalled the impact of Proof’s death on his addiction, revealing that he was taking an excessive amount of drugs and ended up in the hospital following a drug binge.

Despite the challenges he faced after Proof’s death, Eminem has continued to honor his friend’s memory through his music and actions. NASAAN’s tribute to his father and Eminem in the “Goated” video serves as a reminder of the enduring legacy of their friendship and musical partnership.
