The Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB) is set to make history with its first-ever West Coast show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on February 1, 2025. The event, which showcases the talent and artistry of Historically Black College and University marching bands, will feature a star-studded lineup of six prestigious schools.

Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Hampton University, North Carolina A&T University, Southern University, and the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff will all take the stage to showcase their incredible musical talents. Honda will provide institutional grants to each school to support their music education programs and cover travel expenses for the event.

In addition to the participating schools, all 52 bands that took part in the voting process will receive an HBOB Legacy Grant from Honda. The company’s commitment to supporting the HBCU community is evident through initiatives like HBOB and the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge, which have awarded over $14 million in grants to support education programs and facility improvements for HBCUs.

Jasmine Cockfield, the project leader for Honda Battle of the Bands, expressed Honda’s excitement to continue supporting the HBCU community through this event. She believes that the participating bands will put on a show to remember, showcasing their talent and dedication to fans in attendance.

Honda’s longstanding support of HBCUs for over 35 years highlights their dedication to providing opportunities for advancement and higher education to the Black community. Through scholarships, programming, and initiatives, Honda is helping shape the future leaders of tomorrow.
