Black Directors Who Could Be the Next Tyler Perry

The list includes names like Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Ridley Scott. However, with the exception of Tyler Perry, Black artists are rarely seen in this conversation. Tyler Perry, known for his Madea films, has achieved immense success on his own terms, building an empire of Black Excellence in Atlanta.

But who could be the next Tyler Perry? Here are some Black directors and producers who are setting themselves up to reach that level of success:

Jordan Peele, known for his distinctive horror films that explore race and class, has already made a mark with his production company, Monkey Paw. His unique style and storytelling have garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.

Ryan Coogler, the man behind Marvel’s “Black Panther,” has proven himself as a talented storyteller with unapologetically Black films. With his own production company, Coogler has the creative freedom to continue telling impactful stories.

Michael B. Jordan, known for his roles in “Creed” and “Black Panther,” is venturing into filmmaking and expanding his acting career. With his connection to major franchises, Jordan is poised for success in the industry.
