    Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment Unveils State-of-the-Art Dolby Atmos® Studio at LIU

    The Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at Long Island University (LIU) has just unveiled a cutting-edge Dolby Atmos® studio, setting a new standard for music education in Brooklyn. This state-of-the-art facility, designed by Walters-Storyk Design Group (WSDG) and Pro Audio Design Inc., spans 2,400 square feet and features top-of-the-line equipment curated by Director of Music Technology Gimel “Young Guru” Keaton and Pro Audio Design President Dave Malekpour.

    Dean Tressa Cunningham expressed excitement about the immersive learning opportunities the studio will provide for students, preparing them for successful careers in the music industry. The studio includes four iso booths for live band recordings, a large tracking room, and a 750-square-foot control room equipped with the latest audio technology.

    The partnership with the Dolby Institute makes the Roc Nation School the first program in Brooklyn to offer a fully-integrated Dolby Atmos Music curriculum, further solidifying its position as a leader in music education. The studio will also host masterclasses with industry leaders, providing students with hands-on experiences to strengthen their technical skills in music production and recording.

    Christine Thomas, Head of Music Industry Relations at Dolby Laboratories, highlighted the collaboration as a way to empower the next generation of creatives with Dolby Atmos technology. The Roc Nation School aims to cultivate the next generation of creative talent, offering world-class education in music, sports business, and entrepreneurship.
