Young Dolph Murder Suspect Confesses to $100k Hit from Yo Gotti’s Brother
The shocking confession of Young Dolph’s murder suspect, Cornelius Smith, has sent shockwaves through the music industry. Smith admitted to shooting the rapper in exchange for a $100,000 bounty from Yo Gotti’s brother, Big Jook. The murder took place in broad daylight at a Memphis cookie shop in November 2021, with Smith and fellow suspect Justin Johnson opening fire on Dolph.
During Johnson’s trial, Smith testified that he was the one firing the weapon in the CCTV footage of the murder. Johnson’s attorney has dismissed Smith’s testimony as an attempt to save himself from a lengthy jail sentence, while Johnson himself maintains his innocence.
The feud between Young Dolph and Yo Gotti is well-documented, and the murder is believed to be a result of this ongoing rivalry. Smith claimed he was only paid $800 of the $40,000 he was promised for the hit before being arrested. He was also injured during the shooting when Dolph’s brother returned fire.
Smith implicated co-defendant Hernandez Govan in the killing, stating that he informed them of the bounty placed on Dolph by Big Jook. Govan has pleaded not guilty to organizing the murder. Johnson’s brother, Jemarcus, has pleaded guilty to serving as an accessory after the killing.
Yo Gotti has yet to comment on his brother’s alleged involvement in Dolph’s death. The trial continues to unravel more shocking details, leaving the music world in disbelief.
