Netflix Secures 50 Cent’s Documentary on Diddy: Series Officially in the Works
After 50 Cent revealed in May that Netflix had won the bidding war for his documentary on Diddy, the series is now officially in the works. The project will be directed and executively produced by Alexandra Stapleton along with 50 Cent’s production company G-Unit Film & Television Inc.
Stapleton, known for her work on several docuseries, expressed the importance of telling a story with significant human impact that spans decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far. The documentary aims to give a voice to the voiceless and present authentic and nuanced perspectives.
While 50 Cent has been known for trolling Diddy, this documentary will take a wider view into the complicated man and how it led to him being indicted on federal charges. In a recent interview, 50 Cent revealed a particular incident that led him to distance himself from Diddy, citing discomfort with the mogul’s behavior.
Currently, Diddy is behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being arrested by federal authorities. A newly filed civil suit alleges that Thalia Graves was sexually assaulted by Diddy and his bodyguard in 2001.
The docuseries does not yet have an air date, but it promises to delve into the complex narrative of Diddy’s life and career, shedding light on both his contributions to hip-hop culture and the allegations against him. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated project.
