Drake’s OVO Clothing Brand Collaborates with Yale University for Limited-Edition Collection

Despite recent controversies surrounding Drake, his clothing brand, October’s Very Own (OVO), is still making waves. The latest collaboration with Yale University for a limited-edition merchandise collection has caught the attention of fans and fashion enthusiasts alike.

The collection, which includes four items, is now available both in-store at the Yale Bookstore and online on the OVO website. The standout piece, the “Campus Varsity Jacket,” comes with a price tag of $678, while the “Campus T-shirt” and “Campus Sportcap” are priced at $68 each.

Deron Michael, general merchandising manager at the Yale Bookstore, highlighted the collection’s appeal to a youthful, urban aesthetic, stating that Drake’s hip-hop influence resonates with the younger generation. Despite the high prices, the collection has been gaining popularity since its launch on September 20, with items like the jacket, hoodies, and shirts flying off the shelves.

The collaboration was made possible through Barnes and Noble College, which operates the Yale Bookstore. The use of the Yale logo for the OVO collection was approved by Yale’s department of marketing and trademark licensing, marking a significant partnership between the Ivy League school and a cultural icon like Drake.

While some believe that the collection will attract more alumni than current students due to its price point, the success of OVO’s university-themed collaborations with other institutions like Stanford and the University of Toronto suggests otherwise. With items selling out quickly online, it’s clear that OVO’s partnership with Yale is a winning move for both brands.
