JT Earns First Gold Plaque as a Solo Artist, Taunts Haters

Former City Girls rapper JT is celebrating a major milestone in her solo career as she proudly displays her first gold plaque for her single “Okay.” With a sassy Instagram post, JT taunted her haters by asking, “What was said!? oh, OKAY! #moreontheway #citycinderellahere.”

The track “Okay” was featured on JT’s debut mixtape City Cinderella, released in July, and has not only sold 500k equivalent units but has also been streamed over 4 billion times. Despite the success of her solo career, JT still considers herself a City Girl at heart, comparing herself to Tina Turner and emphasizing the importance of her name.

Both JT and Yung Miami have moved on from their time as a duo, with JT describing their decision to pursue solo careers as mutual and without hard feelings. Yung Miami echoed this sentiment, explaining that they simply outgrew each other and were in different head spaces.

Even when on tour together, the duo maintained separate dressing rooms and glam teams, highlighting the disconnect that led to their split. Despite the end of their partnership, both women are thriving in their solo endeavors and continue to support each other’s success.

As JT basks in the glory of her first gold plaque, it’s clear that she is unapologetically owning her solo journey and proving her doubters wrong with each new achievement.
