New Initiative Launched to Mobilize Black Male Voters in Key Battleground States
With the presidential election less than one month away, a new initiative called Vote To Live has been launched to mobilize Black male voters in key battleground states. Affiliated with the Collective PAC, this initiative plans on spending around $4 million to target this crucial voting block.
The Collective PAC, known for backing Black candidates, has officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Quentin James, the founder and president of the organization, stated that Vote To Live has a detailed plan to engage Black male voters.
Vote to Live aims to inform Black men about voter registration, provide free transportation to the polls during early voting, and hire individuals to directly engage with their communities. Additionally, the initiative plans to host events, including homecoming parties at historically Black colleges and universities.
James emphasized the importance of direct outreach in the digital age, noting that Black men are a prime target for misinformation online. He stated, “We want to make sure we are also communicating with Black men around what they need to go vote, what to bring with them, what’s on their ballot — educating them on the actual process, because there is so much online trying to sway them.”
Vote To Live will primarily focus on six states: Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, with additional efforts in Arizona and Nevada. The group aims to register 50,000 Black voters and distribute 100,000 Uber vouchers for round-trip transportation during early voting in select states.
