Tennessee State Dominates Eastern Illinois with 41-17 Victory at Nissan Stadium
In a dominating performance, Tennessee State football team showcased their offensive prowess as they cruised to a 41-17 victory over Eastern Illinois at Nissan Stadium on Saturday night. The Tigers improved their record to 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in Ohio Valley Conference play, while the Panthers dropped to 1-6.
Quarterback Draylen Ellis led the charge for Tennessee State, throwing for 224 yards and four touchdowns without any interceptions. Running backs Jaden McGill and Cj Evans contributed to the ground game, with McGill accumulating 47 yards and Evans adding 37 yards along with a touchdown.
Wide receiver Karate Brenson had a standout performance, reeling in six catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Boogie Trotter stood out with seven tackles and an interception, while Keandre Booker added four tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, two sacks, and a forced fumble.
The Tigers controlled the game on both sides of the ball, winning the turnover battle and limiting Eastern Illinois to just 75 rushing yards. Tennessee State’s offense was efficient in the red zone, scoring touchdowns on all five of their trips.
