The Miles Golden Bears continued their impressive winning streak with a crucial 32-21 victory over the Albany State Golden Rams, solidifying their position as the top seed in the SIAC conference. The win marks their fourth consecutive victory, improving their record to a perfect 4-0 in conference play.
Miles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, scoring 14 points in the first three minutes of the game. Roderick Thomas kickstarted the offense with a 43-yard run, setting up a 20-yard touchdown pass from Khalil Anglin to Travaunte Abner. The defense also made a significant impact, intercepting Albany State early in the game and returning it for a touchdown.
The Golden Bears’ defense dominated the line of scrimmage, recording six sacks and five tackles for loss. They held Albany State to a season-low 61 rushing yards on 26 attempts, putting constant pressure on quarterback Isaiah Knowles.
