WhyHunger’s 2nd Annual Amplified Concert Raises $545,000 to Fight Hunger

The 2nd annual Amplified concert Presented by EY, hosted by WhyHunger, was a night to remember as iconic Grammy Award winners The Roots, talented young guitarist Grace Bowers, and Cuban funk sensation Cimafunk took the stage at NYC’s Irving Plaza. The event, which kicked off WhyHunger’s 39th annual Hungerthon campaign, raised an impressive $545,000 to support the organization’s mission to end hunger and promote food justice.

Founded in 1975 by Harry Chapin and Bill Ayers, WhyHunger has always had music at its core. The Amplified concert showcased the power of music to inspire change and bring communities together. With more than 91% of funds raised going towards community-based solutions for those in need, the event was a true testament to the impact of music in driving social change.

iHeartRadio played a key role as the Premier Audio Partner for the event, providing on-air, digital, and social promotion on six of its New York stations. Jenique Jones, WhyHunger’s Executive Director, expressed her gratitude for the support of the artists, sponsors, and fans who made the event possible.
