Megan Thee Stallion Sued for Harassment and Creating Hostile Work Environment
Los Angeles, CA – Megan Thee Stallion is facing a lawsuit from her former cameraman, Emilio Garcia, who has accused her of harassment and creating a hostile work environment. The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, alleges that Garcia witnessed the rapper engaging in sexual activity with another woman in a moving car while they were traveling in Ibiza.
According to court documents obtained by HipHopDX, Megan Thee Stallion allegedly fat-shamed Garcia, calling him names like “Fat Bitch” and instructing him to “spit out his food.” Garcia claims that he was misclassified as an independent contractor while working for the rapper, denying him the protections of an employee under California law.
Garcia is seeking punitive damages, attorney’s costs, unpaid wages, unpaid overtime wages, and other employee benefits at the legal rate. He described the harassment as “severe or pervasive,” creating a hostile work environment that made his working conditions intolerable.
Garcia’s attorney, Ron Zambrano, stated, “Megan just needs to pay our client what he’s due, own up to her behavior and quit this sort of sexual harassment and fat shaming conduct.” Neither Roc Nation nor Megan Thee Stallion have commented on the lawsuit.
Zambrano is also representing one of Lizzo’s backup dancers in a sexual harassment lawsuit against the singer. He accused Lizzo of trying to “play the victim” and urged her to take responsibility for her actions. The attorney referenced recent allegations against Diddy and former Nickelodeon executive Dan Schneider, calling on Lizzo to set an example and work on becoming a better person.
