Tupac Shakur Estate Warns Drake for Using AI-Generated Voice in Diss Track to Kendrick Lamar

The Tupac Shakur estate has issued a warning to Drake for using an AI-generated voice of the late rap icon in his diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar. The estate has threatened to sue Drake for what they call a “flagrant violation” and “blatant use” of Tupac’s legacy.

In a cease-and-desist letter filed by Howard King, Drake was given 24 hours to pull the song or face legal action. The estate expressed deep disappointment in Drake’s unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality, stating that they would never have approved such use.

The diss track, titled “Taylor Made Freestyle,” features an AI Tupac verse calling out Kendrick Lamar and an AI Snoop Dogg asking for the same. Drake also delivers his own slick talk in the song, taking shots at Lamar.

Snoop Dogg responded to his voice being used in the song with surprise, while former Death Row head Suge Knight criticized the track for putting Tupac and Snoop’s voices together in a diss song. Knight stated that Tupac was a king on the chessboard and should not be made a pawn in this situation.

The controversy surrounding Drake’s use of Tupac’s voice in the diss track has sparked outrage from the Tupac Shakur estate and others in the hip-hop community. It remains to be seen how Drake will respond to the estate’s warning and whether legal action will be taken.
