Diddy’s Lawyers File Motion to Dismiss Some Charges in Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Diddy’s Legal Team Seeks Partial Dismissal of Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Diddy’s legal team has filed a motion to partially dismiss the sexual assault lawsuit brought against him by Joi Dickerson-Neal. The motion argues that Diddy cannot be held liable for breaking laws that were not in existence at the time of the alleged attack in 1991.
Specifically, the motion points out that some of the statutes cited in Dickerson-Neal’s lawsuit, such as those related to revenge porn and human trafficking, were not yet laws when the incident occurred. A judge has yet to rule on the matter.
Dickerson-Neal claims that Diddy drugged and raped her in the early ’90s, allegations that he vehemently denies. His spokesperson stated that the lawsuit is a “money grab” and that the accusations are not credible.
This legal battle comes on the heels of another accusation of sexual harassment and drugging made against Diddy by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. The lawsuit also implicated ex-Motown Records CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam in a drug and sex-trafficking ring allegedly connected to Diddy.
However, Jones has since dropped Habtemariam from the case, clarifying that she has no knowledge of any alleged wrongdoing by Diddy. Habtemariam has vehemently denied any involvement in criminal activities and expressed her distress at being falsely accused.
As the legal proceedings continue, the public awaits the judge’s decision on Diddy’s motion to dismiss parts of the lawsuit, while the embattled mogul maintains his innocence amidst the mounting allegations.
