Thanks to the Players Alliance, museum visitors will have the opportunity to explore this exhibit for free on Saturday, May 25, coinciding with the Hall of Fame East-West Classic at Doubleday Field.

The exhibit, located on the Museum’s second floor, will cover the stories of early Black baseball, the Negro Leagues era, the challenges of reintegration, and the impact of Black players on the game today. The Players Alliance will also bring their Level Up Lab to the East-West Classic, offering tips and guidance to urban and rural players.

Josh Rawitch, President of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, expressed gratitude to The Players Alliance for their support in making this exhibit accessible to all. Margarette Purvis, interim executive director of The Players Alliance, highlighted the importance of sharing Black baseball history with fans to build a more inclusive future for the sport.

“The Souls of the Game” exhibit is part of the Hall of Fame’s Black Baseball Initiative, supported by the Yawkey Foundation and other generous donors.
