Memphis Bleek Supports Kendrick Lamar in Drake Battle
Memphis Bleek, the rapper known for starting the legendary battle between Jay-Z and Nas, has now weighed in on the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Bleek, who took shots at Nas on his 2000 single “My Mind Right,” is no stranger to diss records, and he made it clear that he is firmly in Lamar’s corner.
After Lamar released his scathing diss track “Euphoria,” Bleek took to social media to praise the Compton rapper’s lyricism and call out those who didn’t appreciate the song. “I can’t believe it’s people who really think that K. Dot record [trash],” he wrote. “Glad I’m not one of them cause he walked on that joint.”
Bleek’s support for Lamar in the Drake battle is not surprising, given their connection through music. Lamar has sampled Bleek’s songs on multiple occasions, including on his hit track “LOYALTY” featuring Rihanna. Bleek’s former label boss, Dame Dash, has also sided with Lamar in the feud, praising “Euphoria” for its mature and logical approach to battle rap.
While Jay-Z, another Roc-A-Fella alum, has yet to weigh in on the Drake vs. Lamar debate, Bleek’s endorsement of Lamar adds another layer to the ongoing feud. With support from industry heavyweights like Bleek and Dash, Lamar seems to have a strong team behind him as the battle with Drake continues to heat up.
