Edward Waters Wins First SIAC Baseball Championship with Ferante Cowart’s Grand Slam

In a thrilling comeback victory, Edward Waters University’s baseball team secured their first SIAC Baseball Championship with a 10-5 win over Savannah State on Sunday afternoon. The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Savannah State taking an early lead before Edward Waters fought back to tie the game multiple times.

The turning point came in the bottom of the eighth inning when Ferante Cowart stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a grand slam over the left-center field wall, giving EWU a 9-5 lead.
