Gunna Takes Shots at Drake on New Album ‘One of Wun’
Gunna has seemingly joined the list of rappers taking aim at Drake on his latest album, One of Wun, which was released on Friday. The YSL rapper appears to have fired shots at the 6 God on multiple tracks, sparking speculation among fans and critics alike.
On the track “Still Prevail,” Gunna raps, “I clear all the tabs/ They pay for their abs,” a line that echoes recent claims made by Kendrick Lamar and Rick Ross about Drake undergoing surgery for a more defined stomach. This reference to Drake’s alleged surgery is just one of the thinly-veiled jabs found throughout the album.
In another track, “Collage,” Gunna appears to address the ghostwriting allegations that have long surrounded Drake, rapping, “Thank God I didn’t need a writer/ I work but they think they entitled.” This subject has also been used as ammunition against Drake by other artists like Rick Ross and Kendrick Lamar.
The album’s release comes after Future appeared to throw shade at Gunna on social media, hinting at the release of a new mixtape on the same day as One of Wun. Despite the apparent tension between the two artists, Future’s post was actually in reference to his collaboration with Tee Grizzley, “Swear to God.”
Gunna has also faced accusations of snitching in relation to the ongoing YSL RICO case, with Future previously hinting at this in a now-deleted social media post. Despite the controversy surrounding him, Gunna has vehemently denied these allegations.
Fans and critics alike are eagerly dissecting Gunna’s new album for more clues about his apparent feud with Drake and other rappers in the industry. One of Wun is now available for streaming, adding fuel to the fire of this ongoing rap beef.
