Diddy Files Motion to Dismiss Sexual Assault Lawsuit for Being Filed Too Late
Diddy Fights Back Against Sexual Assault Lawsuit, Demands Dismissal Due to Timing
Hip-hop mogul Diddy is making headlines once again, this time for filing a motion to dismiss a sexual assault lawsuit brought against him by an anonymous accuser. The accuser alleges that Diddy, along with former Bad Boy president Harve Pierre and another man, raped her in 2003 when she was still in high school after being drugged and plied with alcohol.
Diddy’s legal team is arguing that the lawsuit should be dismissed because it was filed past the required timeline, citing the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law (VGM) and the Adult Survivors Act and Child Victimโs Act. They claim that the accuser should have filed suit by August of 2021.
In response to the motion, one of the woman’s attorneys dismissed Diddy’s filing as a “desperate attempt to avoid accountability” and stated that it would not work. This is not the first time Diddy has faced allegations of sexual assault, with a previous lawsuit filed by Joi Dickerson-Neal also being contested on the grounds that some of the statutes cited in the suit did not exist at the time of the alleged attack in 1991.
Diddy has vehemently denied all allegations against him, with his spokesperson calling the latest lawsuit a “money grab” and stating that the accusations are not credible. The legal battle continues as Diddy fights to clear his name and protect his reputation in the face of these serious allegations.
