Unjust Arrest: Black Man Accused of Stealing His Own Car by Gatineau Police

The morning of April 14 took a terrifying turn for Khadafi Keenan Fagan-Pierre, a 31-year-old man from Gatineau, Quebec. What started as a routine day quickly escalated into a nightmare when he was forcibly arrested by police in front of his own home.

Fagan-Pierre, who was simply getting into a Black BMW that belonged to his father, was approached by two police officers who questioned him about the ownership of the vehicle. Despite his cooperation, the situation quickly turned hostile as the officers accused him of looking “suspicious” and proceeded to use excessive force during the arrest.

According to Fagan-Pierre, he was slammed against the garage, punched in the head, and kicked in the leg by the officers. He described the force used against him as “unreasonable” and believes he was targeted due to racial profiling.

The disturbing incident was witnessed by Fagan-Pierre’s mother, Dian Pierre, who questioned the officers’ motives for targeting her son. The officers allegedly justified their actions by citing his appearance and clothing as reasons for suspicion.

In response to the incident, Gatineau police released a statement claiming that Fagan-Pierre was arrested for obstructing a police officer and that the use of force was necessary. However, Fagan-Pierre and his family maintain that the arrest was unjust and racially motivated.

The shocking story of Fagan-Pierre’s arrest has sparked outrage and calls for accountability within the community. As the investigation unfolds, many are left questioning the actions of law enforcement and the prevalence of racial profiling in policing.
