Brooklyn Drill Rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow Arrested in Gang Indictment

The arrest of Brooklyn drill rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, along with over 30 alleged gang members, has sent shockwaves through the New York music scene. The 140-count indictment includes charges related to a 2020 shooting that resulted in the death of Theodore Senior and injuries to five others.

Reports from the New York Daily News reveal that Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow treated their fellow gang members to a lavish dinner at a Manhattan steakhouse to celebrate the shooting. The group even awarded one member with a custom gold chain referencing the street the victim was from, showcasing their brazen disregard for the law.

The NYPD has connected the arrested individuals to 27 instances of violence, including a dozen shootings, all allegedly tied to the 8 Trey Crips and 9 Way gangs. Deputy Chief Jason Savino described how the gang members wore matching outfits during their extravagant dinner, flaunting their criminal activities.

District Attorney Gonzalez emphasized that Sheff G, in particular, used his fame and fortune to further gang violence in Brooklyn. The investigation into the gang’s activities began after a social media feud between Sheff G and a rival gang-affiliated rapper, leading to the fatal shooting in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

Both Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow have served time behind bars on related charges, with Sheff G recently released after 15 months and Sleepy Hallow after eight months. The arrests serve as a stark reminder of the dangers of gang violence and the influence of music industry figures in criminal activities.
