Celebration 2024: Honoring Prince and the 40th Anniversary of Purple Rain

The annual Prince Celebration event is set to return to Paisley Park and various venues throughout Minneapolis from June 20-24, 2024. This year’s event will be extra special as it coincides with the 40th anniversary of Purple Rain, one of Prince’s most iconic albums.

Fans can look forward to a weekend filled with themed programming, including performances by The Revolution, featuring Wendy, Lisa, Bobby Z, Brownmark, and Dr. Fink. These legendary concerts will take place at First Avenue on June 21 and June 22, in partnership with Paisley Park.

In addition to The Revolution, other artists such as Morris Day and New Power Generation will also be performing during the festivities. Bobby Z, drummer of The Revolution, expressed his excitement for the event, stating, “We are excited to have the Revolution return to Minneapolis to celebrate Prince and the 40th Anniversary of Purple Rain!”

L Londell McMillan added, “Celebration 2024 marks the beginning of a year-long series of events honoring Prince and his magnum opus.” The weekend will be packed with activities, including a block party in downtown Minneapolis, conversations and themed panels, DJ dance parties, film screenings from the Purple Rain era, and more.
