Proof’s Son NASAAN Recalls Being Starstruck by 50 Cent at His Father’s Funeral
Proof’s son NASAAN recently shared a heartwarming story about the time he was left starstruck by none other than 50 Cent at his father’s funeral. The young rapper reminisced about the moment during an appearance on Nyla Symone’s We Need To Talk podcast.
Recalling the memory, NASAAN revealed, “He came to my dad’s funeral. I think I was too young to understand what a funeral was. But 50 Cent was like 50 Cent. The entire funeral I’m just staring at him. He’s sitting with Dr. Dre and Eminem. I’m like, ‘Bro, that’s 50 Cent.’ I wanted to be that guy. That was a core memory of mine.”
Despite his admiration for 50 Cent, NASAAN recently playfully called out Eminem on social media when he found out they had clashing release dates for their upcoming projects. The young rapper warned Eminem about releasing on the same day as him, teasing that he might out-sell the rap legend.
NASAAN’s debut project, Error 404, is set to drop on May 31, the same date Eminem has teased a new release. The project will feature contributions from Royce Da 5’9″, Icewear Vezzo, and BabyTron, among others.
In a recent single release, “Goated,” featuring Royce, NASAAN paid tribute to his late father by recreating a famous freestyle moment with Proof and Eminem from 1999. The D12 heir has previously spoken about his close relationship with Eminem, crediting the rap icon with supporting his music ambitions.
