Experience the Magic of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World: A Celebration of Black Voices and Storytelling
The enchanting world of Disney is about to get even more magical with the upcoming opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park. Set to debut on June 28, this new attraction promises to celebrate Black voices and storytelling in a way that only Disney can.
To kick off the excitement, Disney recently hosted a reception titled ‘We Came to Play,’ where guests dressed in their finest summer whites gathered to celebrate and amplify Black voices within the Disney narrative. Special appearances by Stella Chase Reese and Edgar “Dook” Chase IV, descendants of the legendary family behind Tiana’s story, added a personal touch to the event.
The festivities included New Orleans-inspired jazz tunes and Bahamian-inspired cuisine, immersing attendees in the rich cultural tapestry that inspired Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Iconic actress Jenifer Lewis, the voice of Mama Odie in the attraction, shared powerful words of wisdom on the importance of representation and education.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure invites guests on a thrilling journey with Princess Tiana and Louis the alligator, culminating in a grand Mardi Gras celebration. With a 50-foot drop and critter musicians adding their unique flair, this ride promises to be a highlight of the Magic Kingdom Park experience.
Scheduled to open on June 28, 2024, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is sure to become a beloved addition to Walt Disney World Resort. Will you be visiting the Bayou this year? Stay tuned for more information on this exciting new attraction.
