    Top HBCU Sluggers Invited to 2024 MLB Draft Combine: Grambling State’s Bufford and Walker Showcasing Skills

    Grambling State University’s baseball team is making waves as two of their star players, Cameron Bufford and Kyle Walker, have been invited to the prestigious 2024 MLB Draft Combine. This is a huge opportunity for the pair of top HBCU sluggers to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts alongside the nation’s top college and high school baseball players.

    Bufford, a senior infielder, had a standout season leading Grambling to a SWAC championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. He set a program career home run record with 45 and ended the regular season with impressive stats including a .349 batting average, 56 RBI, and an OPS of 1.016. Walker, a talented second baseman from New Orleans, also had a stellar season hitting .394 with 11 home runs and 41 RBI.

    The MLB Draft Combine will provide Bufford and Walker with the opportunity to participate in various assessments and educational programming aimed at preparing them for potential careers in professional baseball. The event will include a pro-style showcase workout, strength and performance assessments, and the chance to interact with Major League Club general managers and scouting directors.

    The combine will be held from June 18 to 23 at Chase Field in Phoenix, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
