Steve Harvey Accused of Stealing Jokes in Revealing Interview at 2023 Invest Fest

Comedian Steve Harvey found himself in hot water recently after allegations of joke stealing surfaced during a candid interview with fellow comedian Angela Means. Means, known for her role as “Felicia” in the movie “Friday,” claimed that Harvey, often hailed as the King of Comedy, had a history of taking jokes and material from other comedians, including Mark Curry.

According to Means, Curry was a comedic genius whose jokes were often pilfered by up-and-coming comics like Harvey. She stated, “Steve Harvey will steal a joke. It was like blatant. It was a lot of people stealing jokes. You almost had to steal jokes in the beginning of your career just to understand what timing was…Steve Harvey felt like he was the king.”

Despite the accusations, Means also gave credit to Curry for his comedic prowess, suggesting that he should let go of any animosity towards Harvey. She explained, “Curry has forgotten about more comedy that he has said than a lot of people have written. But also, he needs to let go of Steve Harvey and let Steve Harvey let the chips fall where they may.”

This isn’t the first time Harvey has been accused of joke theft, with comedian Katt Williams also making similar claims in a recent interview. As the comedy world continues to grapple with issues of originality and intellectual property, Harvey’s reputation may be at stake. Only time will tell how this controversy will impact his career in the long run.
