Former Spiritual Adviser to Donald Trump Confesses to “Inappropriate Sexual Behavior” with 12-Year-Old
Former spiritual adviser to Donald Trump, Robert Morris, has recently confessed to “inappropriate sexual behavior” with a 12-year-old girl back in 1982. The incident allegedly took place on Christmas day, according to the Christian Post.
The victim, Cindy Clemishire, revealed that she was abused by Morris, who was a pastor at Gateway Church, until 1987. Despite attempting to sue Morris in 2005, her allegations did not gain much attention at the time.
In a statement to the Christian Post, Morris admitted to his actions, although he did not specifically address the victim’s age. He confessed to engaging in inappropriate behavior with a young lady in his early twenties, which included kissing and petting. Morris claimed that he confessed and repented of his actions in 1987 and 1989, seeking forgiveness from the victim and her family.
Despite these disturbing revelations, Morris was never criminally charged due to the statute of limitations for criminal or civil action having most likely expired. In a surprising turn of events, Morris was appointed to Trump’s evangelical advisory board during his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump even praised Morris and another pastor for their involvement in a roundtable discussion with faith leaders in Texas in 2020.
However, a Trump campaign spokesperson has stated that Morris does not have a role in the 2024 campaign, and Trump himself was reportedly unaware of the allegations. The spokesperson emphasized Trump’s commitment to upholding faith and protecting religious liberties as the reason for his broad appeal among faith communities.
The shocking confession by Morris raises questions about the moral character of those in positions of influence and whether Trump can continue to garner support from religious communities despite his association with individuals facing such serious allegations.
