Kanye West Grouped with Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theorists in Latest Season of The Boys
Kanye West Placed Among Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theorists in Latest Season of The Boys
Kanye West’s controversial remarks targeting the Jewish community have now placed him in a fictional universe alongside religious extremists. The ongoing fourth season of The Boys delves into American politics by drawing parallels with the Alt-right, Christian nationalism, and racial separatism, among other themes.
In a recent episode titled “Wisdom of the Ages,” an explicitly anti-Semitic character named Firecracker hosts a televised rally to spread a range of conspiracy theories centered on white supremacy. The character hypes up the crowd by mentioning Kanye West’s presence at the event, although he is never shown on camera.
The Chicago native is not the only figure in the hip-hop industry to perpetuate anti-Semitic tropes that have historically fueled discrimination. During a lengthy Drink Champs interview earlier this year, media proprietor Benzino discussed racial unity while emphasizing a long-standing conspiracy that has fueled anti-Jewish sentiments for centuries.
Benzino stated, “Let me tell you about the Jews that Kanye [West] talked about. The Jews were the slaves and they came together and they bought within each other, and now look at them. Media, banking, entertainment — they run shit.”
The perpetuation of the myth that Jewish people control global institutions for malicious purposes has been widely condemned as a form of anti-Semitism. The Louis B. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law has labeled this belief as a clear marker of anti-Semitic ideology.
The inclusion of Kanye West in this narrative within The Boys serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of spreading harmful conspiracy theories and perpetuating discriminatory beliefs.
