Chicago-based couple Justin and Patrice Brim have created a YouTube channel, “Jools TV,” that is making waves in the world of children’s educational programming. The channel, which stands for the ‘Js Of Our Lives,’ was born out of the couple’s desire to honor their late son, JJ, while also celebrating their three other children: Jaxon, Jett, and Jhy.

Each episode of “Jools TV” features important life lessons for young children, ending with an upbeat “Trapery Rhyme” or hip-hop inspired nursery rhyme. The channel has quickly gained popularity, amassing over 500,000 subscribers and more than 100 million views in just four years.

Stars like Cardi B, Michael B. Jordan, Missy Elliott, and Ciara and Russell Wilson have praised the series, and The Brim Family even published their first book, “JJ’s Affirmations,” earlier this year.

The couple’s connection to education is personal, with Justin sharing that his mother was a teacher and he himself has experience teaching kindergarten. They both lament the lack of representation they saw on television growing up and are determined to provide diverse and inclusive content for children.

In a time where Black history is under attack in schools, “Jools TV” stands as a beacon of knowledge and representation for young viewers. The Brim family remains committed to honoring their ancestors and heroes through their platform, ensuring that Black youth have access to accurate and empowering educational content.
