T.I. & Tiny Seek Dismissal of Sexual Assault Lawsuit: Claims Are “Time-Barred”
Rapper T.I. and his wife Tiny are fighting back against a lawsuit accusing them of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman back in 2005. The couple is now seeking to have the case dismissed, claiming that the allegations are time-barred and lack sufficient evidence.
The lawsuit, filed by a woman identified as Jane Doe, alleges that T.I. and Tiny engaged in sexual battery, assault, negligence, and false imprisonment during an encounter at a Los Angeles nightclub. The woman claims that Tiny may have tampered with her drink, leading to a disturbing series of events in a hotel room with the couple.
According to legal documents obtained by AllHipHop, T.I. and Tiny’s attorneys argue that the claims in the lawsuit are baseless and fail to establish a valid legal case. The couple is pushing for a dismissal with prejudice, which would prevent the plaintiff from re-filing the complaint.
Despite the incident occurring nearly two decades ago, the lawsuit was able to move forward due to California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act. T.I. and Tiny have vehemently denied the accusations, labeling them as an extortion attempt.
In a statement released to HipHopDX, the couple’s legal team maintained their innocence and expressed their determination to fight the allegations in court. The case continues to unfold as T.I. and Tiny seek to clear their names and put an end to the legal battle.
