Detective Alex Cross Series Set to Premiere on Prime Video: Release Date Announced
Detective Alex Cross is set to make his debut on the small screen in the upcoming Prime Video series “Cross,” starring Aldis Hodge as the titular character. Hodge, who also serves as a producer on the project, announced the official release date of the series at the 2024 Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans.
Scheduled to premiere on Nov. 14, “Cross” will delve into the world of Detective Cross, a Washington, D.C. homicide detective and forensic psychologist, as he delves into the minds of killers and their victims to solve heinous crimes. The series will also explore themes of brotherhood, family, and Black love, according to Hodge.
Joining Hodge in the cast are Isaiah Mustafa as Detective Cross’s partner, John Sampson, along with a talented ensemble including Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, and more. The character of Alex Cross, originally portrayed by Morgan Freeman in the 1997 film “Kiss the Girls,” has since been brought to life by Tyler Perry in a 2012 reboot.
“Cross” has already been renewed for a second season, showcasing the confidence and excitement surrounding the project. With a stellar production team and a compelling storyline based on James Patterson’s best-selling book series, “Cross” is poised to captivate audiences and bring the beloved character of Alex Cross to life in a whole new way.
