Former NFL receiver Jacoby Jones, known for his electrifying plays on the field, has passed away at the age of 40. The Houston Texans, where Jones spent the first five seasons of his career, announced his death on Sunday. Jones played for multiple teams during his career, including the Baltimore Ravens, San Diego Chargers, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

One of Jones’ most memorable moments came during the Ravens’ Super Bowl title season in 2013. In a playoff game against the Denver Broncos, Jones caught a 70-yard touchdown pass with just 31 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to tie the score. The Ravens went on to win in double overtime. In the Super Bowl that same season, Jones made history with a 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, the longest in Super Bowl history.

Jones, who grew up in New Orleans, was known for his infectious personality and love for the game. Ravens coach John Harbaugh fondly recalled a moment when Jones was talking to his mom in the end zone before a kickoff return against the Vikings in a snowstorm shootout, only to race back for a touchdown.

Jones was also recognized for his skills as a kick returner, making the Associated Press All-Pro team in 2012. Off the field, he showcased his dancing talents on “Dancing With The Stars.”

Former teammate J.J. Watt remembered Jones as one of the most fun-loving and joyful individuals he had ever been around. Jones’ untimely passing has left a void in the NFL community, with many mourning the loss of a talented player and beloved teammate.
