North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson Avoids Reporters and Calls Questions “Pure Shameful”
North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson faced a barrage of questions from reporters on Wednesday, but instead of addressing their concerns, he lashed out and called their line of questioning “pure shameful.” Robinson, who is currently the Republican nominee for governor, managed to avoid the reporters by quickly retreating into an elevator with his security detail.
The incident occurred at the legislature during a ceremony honoring a Craven County police officer. When reporters attempted to ask him questions after the event, Robinson responded with disdain. “You want to come out here and besmirch that lady’s award by asking me that silly question?” he retorted. “Shameful, that’s what it is. Pure shameful. And you should be ashamed.”
This encounter comes just weeks after Robinson made controversial remarks at a church event, where he stated, “Some folks need killing!” His history of deplorable remarks includes advocating for the arrest of trans women, linking homosexuality to pedophilia, promoting racist conspiracy theories about Barack and Michelle Obama, and spreading antisemitic beliefs.
Anderson Clayton, the North Carolina Democratic Party chairwoman, expressed her disapproval of Robinson’s behavior, calling it “jarring and irresponsible.” She stated, “Mark Robinson makes North Carolina less safe…it’s clearly intended to incite violence.”
As Robinson continues his campaign for governor, his controversial statements and actions are drawing criticism and raising concerns among voters and political leaders alike.
