Irv Gotti Sued for Sexual Assault by Jane Doe: Allegations of Abuse and Coercion
Irv Gotti, co-founder of Murder Inc. Records and former Def Jam executive, is facing a lawsuit for sexual assault filed by a woman identified as Jane Doe. The woman alleges that Gotti sexually abused her multiple times, starting in 2020 after they met at a poker tournament and he coerced her into accompanying him on a vacation to Saint Martin.
According to the lawsuit, Gotti threatened to send the woman home if she did not comply with his demands for sex, citing his power and influence in the music industry. The abuse allegedly continued in a two-year relationship characterized by unwanted sexual acts and verbal abuse.
The woman’s lawyer, Adriana Alcalde, stated that her client has suffered severe emotional and psychological harm as a result of the alleged abuse, leading to her being committed to a psychiatric ward. Alcalde emphasized the importance of the #MeToo movement in empowering women to speak up about their experiences.
Gotti, 54, is known for his work with artists like DMX, Jay-Z, Ja Rule, and Ashanti through Murder Inc. Records, which he co-founded with his brother Christopher Lorenzo in the late ’90s. The lawsuit against him adds to the ongoing conversation about sexual misconduct in the music industry and the importance of holding powerful figures accountable for their actions.
