Black Greek Letter Organizations and Civil Rights Groups Rally Behind Kamala Harris for President

Black Greek letter organizations and civil rights groups are rallying behind Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, in a historic show of support. The “Divine Nine” organizations are working together to increase Black voter turnout in November and ensure a fair election process.

Shavon Arline-Bradley, the national head of the National Council of Negro Women and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., expressed optimism about the momentum of this moment. She attended the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.’s boule where Harris was the keynote speaker, highlighting the unity among these influential organizations.

The Divine Nine are planning a non-partisan voter registration event to activate their thousands of chapters and members. Kamala Harris, a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., has been actively engaging with her sorority sisters and other organizations to rally support for the upcoming election.

Dr. Stacie Grant, international president and CEO of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., emphasized the significance of Harris being the first Black woman presidential nominee to address a Black Greek letter organization. The collective influence of these organizations has been instrumental in supporting candidates like Angela Alsobrooks in the Maryland U.S. Senate contest.

In addition to the Divine Nine, civil rights groups like the National Council of Negro Women are mobilizing members to register new voters and ensure voting access for the disenfranchised. With a united effort to defeat Donald Trump and elect Kamala Harris as president, these organizations are determined to make a difference in the upcoming election.
