Pop Smoke’s Mother Discusses Son’s Death and No Jumper Interview with Alleged Killer
Audrey Jackson, the mother of the late rapper Pop Smoke, opened up about her son’s tragic death and the recent release of one of his alleged killers in a candid interview with Hot 97. Pop Smoke, whose real name was Bashar Barakah Jackson, was killed during a home invasion in his Los Angeles rental house in 2020.
One of the alleged killers, known as Blockstar, was recently released from prison after serving a four-year juvenile sentence. Blockstar appeared on the No Jumper podcast for an interview shortly after his release, sparking controversy and outrage. When asked about the interview, Jackson revealed that she was not tuned into it, stating, “It’s not a part of my world.”
Despite the pain and grief of losing her son, Jackson has channeled her energy into creating the Shoot for the Stars Foundation in honor of Pop Smoke. The foundation aims to empower young people through creative engagement, education, and access to technology. Jackson recently collaborated with young fashion designers, showcasing their work in Valencia as a tribute to her son’s legacy.
Through her work with the foundation, Jackson hopes to inspire and uplift young people, keeping her son’s creativity and spirit alive. Despite the challenges and heartache she has faced, Jackson remains dedicated to honoring Pop Smoke’s memory and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
