    All the winners of the 2024 HBCU Sports Awards have been announced

    2024 HBCU Sports Awards Honors Outstanding Achievements in Black College Sports

    The 2024 HBCU Sports Awards was a night to remember as the best and brightest in Black College sports were honored for their outstanding achievements. Hosted by the HBCU Sports crew, the virtual event celebrated athletes, administrators, and coaches from across the HBCU landscape.

    Among the winners were standout athletes like Kendyl Terrell from Jackson State, who was named Women’s Soccer Player of the Year, and Cameron Bufford from Grambling, who took home the title of Baseball Player of the Year. Coaches were also recognized for their hard work and dedication, with Davin Pierre from Grambling State winning Baseball Coach of the Year and Tomekia Reed from Jackson State named Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year.

    In addition to individual awards, special honors were given to George Williams from Saint Augustine’s and Teresa Phillips from Tennessee State, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award for their contributions to Black College sports.

    The event also highlighted the importance of social media presence and effective communication in sports, with Grambling State winning the award for Best Social Media Presence and Charles Edmond from Alcorn State being named Broadcaster of the Year.

    Overall, the 2024 HBCU Sports Awards was a night of celebration and recognition for the incredible talent and dedication within the HBCU sports community. Congratulations to all the winners and honorees!
