    Maxwell Football Club Introduces HBCU Contributions to Football Award

    The Maxwell Football Club, known for its prestigious awards in college football, has announced the addition of a new honor specifically for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The HBCU Contributions to Football Award will join the ranks of the Maxwell, Chuck Bednarik, and George Munger awards, recognizing outstanding contributors from HBCUs in the world of football.

    Mark Wolpert, executive director of the Maxwell Football Club, expressed his excitement about the new award, highlighting the rich history and legacy of HBCU football. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the players, coaches, and administrators who have made significant contributions to the sport over the years.

    John Grant, executive director of ESPN Events and the Cricket Celebration Bowl, praised the establishment of the Maxwell Club HBCU award, acknowledging the invaluable impact that individuals from HBCUs have had on college football. He described the award as a celebration of the rich history and talent that have shaped the game we all love.

    The inaugural MFC Contributions to HBCU Football Award will be presented at the 88th Maxwell Awards ceremony on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia. This new addition to the Maxwell Football Club’s lineup of awards is a significant step towards recognizing and honoring the contributions of HBCUs to the world of college football.
