Ayesha Curry’s Encounter with French Police at Olympics in Paris Sparks Controversy
Ayesha Curry, wife of NBA star Stephen Curry, found herself in a tense situation with French police during her time in Paris for the Olympics. The incident, captured on video and shared online, shows Curry with her mother-in-law Sonya Curry and Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green, trying to navigate through a restricted area.
In the video, Sonya is seen explaining to the officers that they are not allowed to go back to where they came from, as French President Emmanuel Macron was in the vicinity. Green then accuses one of the officers of hitting the baby, although it is unclear when this alleged incident occurred.
This unfortunate encounter adds to a string of incidents involving Black celebrities in France, including Travis Scott’s recent arrest and Kelly Rowland’s experience at Cannes. Despite the ordeal, the Curry family was able to attend and celebrate Team USA’s Gold medal victory over France in the basketball final.
Ayesha and Stephen Curry, who have been married since 2011, share four children together, including their youngest son Caius. The couple has been a prominent figure in the sports and entertainment world, and this incident in Paris has once again highlighted the challenges that Black celebrities face while traveling abroad.
