Juvenile and Mannie Fresh React to Eminem Sampling “Ha” on The Death of Slim Shady

Juvenile and Mannie Fresh have expressed their gratitude towards Eminem for sampling their classic hit “Ha” on his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). In an interview with Hot 97’s DJ Drewski, Juvenile praised Eminem for his use of “Ha,” stating, “We can’t do nothing with these songs sitting down, we can’t make no money with these songs just sitting down so I applaud the artists, especially the artists that are real good at it that got talent.” Mannie Fresh also chimed in, calling it “the biggest homage anybody can pay to you” when a credible artist like Eminem samples your work.

Juvenile also revealed his surprise at hearing the song being used by Eminem, but expressed his appreciation for the gesture. Earlier this year, Kanye West also sampled Juvenile’s hit “Back That Azz Up” on his Vultures 1 track “Do It,” which featured YG and the late Nipsey Hussle. Juvenile was flattered by Kanye’s use of his music and emphasized the importance of supporting new artists who pay homage to his work.
