Survey Shows Vice President Kamala Harris Leading or Tied with Donald Trump in Battleground States: Cook Political Report
The Cook Political Report has just released a groundbreaking survey that has shaken up the landscape of the 2024 presidential election. According to the survey conducted by Democratic polling firm BSG and Republican polling firm GS Strategy Group, Vice President Kamala Harris is now tied or ahead of former President Donald Trump in six out of seven battleground states.
This significant shift comes after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race last month, leaving Harris to take the lead. Previously, Trump was leading in key states such as Michigan, North Carolina, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. However, the latest poll shows Harris leading Trump in all of these states except for Nevada, where Trump still holds the lead.
The analysis of the survey by Cook Political Report publisher and editor-in-chief Amy Walter sheds light on Harris’s appeal to voters. Walter explains that Harris represents a chance to move past the Trump/Biden era, with a majority of battleground state voters seeing her as a symbol of new leadership.
Furthermore, Harris also holds a significant lead over third-party candidates, particularly Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in states like Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The survey, which was conducted among 2,867 likely voters in the seven swing states, has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.83 percentage points.
With Harris’s newfound momentum and popularity among voters, the 2024 presidential election is shaping up to be a highly competitive and dynamic race.
