Dreamville rapper JID has given fans an exciting update on his highly anticipated new album while also shutting down claims that Hip Hop is struggling. The talented artist recently performed at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in the lead-up to the Oleksandr Usyk’s victory against Tyson Fury, a match watched by millions worldwide.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, JID revealed that his album will be released after he finishes touring this summer. He also used his suspended performance above the boxing ring as evidence that rap music is “alive and well,” contradicting recent statements made by others in the industry.

Currently opening for 21 Savage on the American Dream Tour, JID is set to wrap up the 30-date North American trek on June 15 in Atlanta. Following two additional shows in Chicago and Milwaukee, fans can expect his new album, titled Forever & A Day, to drop sometime after July 6.

In addition to his solo project, JID has been teasing a joint album with Metro Boomin, further exciting fans and solidifying his status as a rising star in the rap scene. With high praise from legends like Big Boi, who credited JID with reigniting his passion for rapping, it’s clear that JID’s impact on the industry is only just beginning.
