Azealia Banks Files Lawsuit Against Landlord Amid Eviction Battle: Exclusive Details
Azealia Banks is not having a hot girl summer as she faces a lawsuit from her landlord. The rapper has accused her landlord of blaming her for a rodent infestation and allowing unauthorized filming of her lingerie in her rented home in Palmetto Bay, Florida. The drama unfolded after her landlord, Isis Claro, filed an eviction lawsuit against her, claiming she owed $8,000 in back rent.
In response, Azealia filed a countersuit, denying any wrongdoing and stating that she had complied with all terms of the lease agreement. She claimed that she had signed a one-year lease with a monthly rent of $7,050 and had paid a $14,600 security deposit. Azealia also accused the landlord of neglecting maintenance tasks, refusing rent payments, and invading her privacy by allowing unauthorized access to film her personal belongings.
The rapper demanded the return of her security deposit and legal fees in her lawsuit. As of July 2nd, the landlord sought dismissal of Azealia’s claims and requested possession of the property. The ongoing legal battle highlights the challenges faced by tenants in the current rent crisis in America. Despite her celebrity status, Azealia Banks is not immune to the struggles of dealing with landlords and rental disputes.
