Julio Foolio Murder Suspect Linked to Previous Attempt on Rapper’s Life

The murder of rapper Julio Foolio has taken a shocking turn as the prime suspect, 18-year-old Sean Gathright, has been linked to a previous attempt on the rapper’s life in October 2023. According to reports from local news outlet News4Jax, police discovered shell casings from a gun related to the October attack where Foolio was shot in the foot.

Gathright was apprehended during a traffic stop as part of the investigation into Foolio’s murder. Authorities found a 9mm pistol, a rifle, and nine spent cartridge casings from the larger gun in his possession. The police allege that the casings match those found in two previous shootings, including the October 2023 incident involving Foolio.

During a raid on Gathright’s residence, law enforcement also uncovered a brass catcher, a device used to prevent shell casings from being left at the scene of a shooting. Gathright is believed to be the shooter in Foolio’s killing, with several others arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder.

The suspects, including Isaiah Chance, Alicia Andrews, and Rashad Murphy, reportedly traveled from Jacksonville to Tampa to carry out the attack on Foolio as he celebrated his 26th birthday. The feud between Julio Foolio and Yungeen Ace, along with their respective crews KTA and ATK, has been ongoing for years, with police stating that Foolio’s murder was a result of the ongoing gang war.

Foolio’s tragic death on June 23 at a Holiday Inn parking lot has sent shockwaves through the music industry, with two other passengers injured in the attack. Despite previous accusations against Yungeen Ace, he denied any involvement in the murder, and police confirmed they were not actively investigating his connection to the crime. The investigation into Julio Foolio’s murder continues as authorities work to bring all those responsible to justice.
