Kandi Burruss Opens Up About Weight Loss Struggles and Mental Health Impact of Medication
Kandi Burruss Opens Up About Weight Loss Struggles After Trying Semaglutides
Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kandi Burruss, recently shared her struggles with weight loss after trying semaglutides like Wegovy and Ozempic. While celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Tracey Morgan have praised the medication for helping them shed pounds, Burruss revealed on PageSix’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast that she did not have the same success.
“I tried it last year and I didn’t lose any weight,” Burruss said in the interview. Despite high hopes and seeing others achieve results, the medication did not curb her cravings or lead to weight loss as expected. This lack of progress left Burruss feeling depressed and questioning herself.
“When you see it worked for other people and it doesn’t work for you, it makes you depressed,” she shared. “Realistically, it makes you feel like, ‘What is wrong with me? Why is it not working for me?'”
Determined to reach her weight loss goals, Burruss is now focusing on a healthy diet, workout plan, and using the weight management dietary supplement Hydroxycut. She hopes to lose at least 20 pounds and regain her confidence.
“It’s been years since I felt like I was real slim and trim — slim-thick, as I like to call it. It’s been a minute and I would love to just see myself get back to that, to my best self,” Burruss expressed.
Despite the setbacks with semaglutides, Burruss remains optimistic about her weight loss journey and is determined to achieve her goals through hard work and dedication.
